FSSAI Registration in Bangalore

Types of FSSAI registrations :

  • FSSAI Basic Registration:

    The Basic FSSAI registration is required for small businesses or startups (petty food manufacturers and the small-sized manufacturers, storage units, transporters, retailers, marketers, distributors, etc.) with an annual turnover below Rs.12 lakhs. This can be upgraded to a State license as your sales graph increases
  • FSSAI State License:

    The state FSSAI license is applicable to mid-sized companies like small to medium-sized manufacturers, storage units, transporters, retailers, marketers, distributors who have annual turnover between Rs.12-20 crores. This is issued by the State Government, and with this licence, you are allowed to operate in only one state.
  • FSSAI Central License:

    This registration is applicable for large businesses like Importers, 100% Export Oriented Units, large manufacturers, operators in the Central Government agencies, airports, seaports, etc., with annual turnover above Rs.20 crores. This is issued by the Central Government.

Food License Registration (FSSAI) Procedure

FSSAI registration is based on your business volume, capacity, turnover, location. The applicant is eligible for licenses such as basic, central, and state licenses. The following steps need to be followed to obtain the FSSAI in Bangalore :

  • Submitting the FSSAI application to the Food and Safety Department.
  • The application is either accepted or rejected by the concerned Department within seven days from the date of receipt of an application. This rejection needs to be intimated to the applicant in writing format
  • If the application is accepted, the Department will grant a registration certificate that has the registration number and the applicant photo.
  • FBO should display the registration certificate at the place of business during business hours.

  • Applicant ID Proof (Pan Card / Aadhaar Card)
  • Business Address Proof (Rent Agreement / Electricity Bill / Water Bill)
  • Applicant Photo

  • Applicant Primary Mobile, Email ID

Documents required for obtaining the Central License:

FSSAI license documents for the Central food license are as follows

  • Form B duly completed and signed.
  • Plan of the processing unit.
  • List of Directors/ Partners/ Proprietors along with the address, contact details, and photo ID.
  • List of equipment and machinery to be used with the number and installed capacity
  • List of food categories to be manufactured.
  • Authority letter from a manufacturer
  • Report of Analysis for water to be used in the process
  • Source of raw material for milk, meat, etc
  • Recall plan where needed
  • Ministry of Commerce Certificate for 100% EOU
  • NOC/PA document issued by FSSAI
  • IE code document issued by DGFT
  • Form IX
  • Certificate from Ministry of Tourism
  • Proof of possession of premises
  • Partnership deed/ affidavit of proprietorship
  • NOC and copy of License from the manufacturer
  • NOC from the municipality or local body
  • Food safety management system plan or certificate
  • Supporting document for proof of turnover and transportation
  • Declaration form

  • Plan of the processing unit revealing every dimension and operation-wise area allocation
  • List of Directors/ Partners/ Proprietors along with the address, contact details, and photo ID.
  • List of equipment and machinery to be used with the number and installed capacity
  • List of food categories to be manufactured.
  • Authority letter from a manufacturer
  • Report of Analysis for water to be used in the process
  • Proof of possession of premises
  • Partnership deed/ affidavit of proprietorship

  • Copy of certificate obtained under the Coop Act 1861 or Multistate Coop Act 2002
  • Food safety management system plan or certificate
